We have been busy planting new flowers, fruit and vegetables in our nursery garden. Some of us have been weeding as well!!

The cabbages grew very quickly and the herbs smell and feel lovely.

We are now waiting to see how tall the sunflowers will grow.

Well what a wonderful term we have had!
OfSTED came to visit on Friday 3rd March inspecting the nursery and out of school provision as ‘Outstanding’.
As you will see in the photographs, we have continued to have a very busy term. To support language and literacy development the children have taken part in many ‘Letters and Sounds’ activities and games.
We have visited the pond, hunted for bugs and whilst gardening I think we nearly dug a hole to Australia, all which have supported our understanding of growth and new life.
In the craft area of the nursery, the children have created their own Easter crafts and Mothering Sunday card, whilst in the mathematical area we have concentrated on numbers, shape, space and measure. We do hope you enjoy this blog, if you can leave us a message telling us what you think, thank you.

Celebrating Our British Traditions

It is Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday and to mark this special occasion the children have made a birthday card for her which we have sent to Buckingham Palace. We watched the celebrations on the television and sang the National Anthem

We have also celebrated St. George’s Day. We acted out the story of George and the Dragon!

As a special treat we had a barbecue at the bottom of the school field and the children all tucked into delicious hot-dog sausages. We strung our flags up between the trees and all had a great time!

During May we have enjoyed taking part in the traditional European activity of Maypole Dancing.  What fun we had skipping and dancing!

Spring Term at Lytham Hall Park Nursery

1

Posted by Nursery | Posted in General News | Posted on 19-04-2016

Well what a busy term we have had!
We have said a fond farewell to Mrs Robinson after many years as Head and a welcome to Mrs Parker.
As you will see in the photographs we had a fantastic time visiting Lytham Hall, looking at the snowdrops and finding signs of early spring.
In the construction area the children have built amazing structures, whilst other children are using their shoes to measure the length of the wooden blocks.
Now the weather has improved we are have been able to get on with our gardening project, with lot’s of digging and planting whilst searching for mini beasts underneath pots and in the bark.
To support the children’s writing skills they have been washing the windows and drawing shapes.
Thank you for visiting our blog.
